You might want to respond to each others ideas as a way to prepare for the midterm.

1. Is the comprehension process different on the Internet?
2. Are these processes extensions of traditional comprehension skills, or do Web-based learning environments demand fundamentally different skills?
3. I think that Scavenger Hunts can be an easy way to introduce a topic to students. Using a scavenger hunt followed by Internet Workshop(Leu) at the end of the week in which students share what they've learned about the content and about using technology will bring the class together- offer teachable moments.

I challenge any brave souls to 1)create a very simple Scaventer Hunt that is related to your curriculum, 2)have students visit your computer center during the week for a half hour stints and then 3)follow up with an Internet Workshop to talk with them as a group about what they've learned (about content and using the computer)
Short and sweet is good. Any takers for 2 points?
You will have to tell us all about it and show your work.

THe role of the classroom teacher in new literacies

I appreciated the feedback you gave me tonight on the new literacies survey.
